Overview
The Rocking Armchair is a wingback chair in velvet, with a back divided into vertical channels crossed by horizontal stitching that forms a grid of padded blocks running up into the wings. The rolled arms curve down to a single loose seat cushion, and black metal legs bolt onto a pair of wood rocking rails.
Wing Back
The back rises above the shoulders and flares outward at the top into two rounded wings that frame the sides of the head. The top narrows down toward the seat, giving the chair a tall, curved outline from the front.
Block-Tufted Panel
Vertical channels run the height of the back and are crossed by horizontal stitching, dividing the panel into a grid of padded rectangles. The stitching continues onto the wings, so the tufted pattern wraps up to the top edge.
Wood Rocking Rails
Two black tube-steel legs cross beneath the seat and bolt onto a pair of curved wood rails that lift the chair clear of the floor. The rails carry the frame's weight and let it rock steadily.
